The Women’s Race / Friday Finishline

TWR Friday Finishline

Empowering women through endurance sport.

Welcome to week 3 of The Women’s Race newsletter. I’m so glad you’re here!

Each week, I’ll share a little bit about what to expect on the podcast (it’s already out this week!) and other triathlon things going on. You’ll also get behind-the-scenes stories from racing, highlights from the podcast, and updates on everything we’re building together through The Women’s Race.

Whether you’re training for your first finish line or chasing a personal best, I hope this becomes a place where you feel encouraged, informed, and reminded that you belong in this sport.

What we are loving right now:

This weeks pod w/Laura Philipp

This week I got to chat with Laura Philipp after our time together in Kalmar. My questions went out the window and I truly just enjoyed the easy conversation with her. Hearing from an Ironman World Champion who knows, trusts and listens to her body during even the most ‘important’ times of the year is truly impressive and inspiring. She is racing this weekend at Zell am See 70.3 and I can’t wait to see how she goes.

World Champs Hype and Personal Issues :)

Ok, so I still can’t decide about 70.3 world champs ?! My body is coming around well after Kalmar and I’m really inspired by the idea of just being part of what will be an AMAZING event in Nice. I raced the 70.3 WC back in 2019 (when the kids were 1 and 3…how?? I’m not sure LOL) and the IM World champs there in 2024. I LOVE the venue, both the beauty and challenge of it.

WHY go?? Possibly improve Pro Series points AND enjoy the experience 😞 Follow/subscribe to YouTube for my updates :)

RAW Endurance Gels Discount:

Fueling is super important and RAW has some new gels releasing 8/28. I have been using them for a bit and really like them! Neutral flavor, 25g Carbs and 100mg sodium.

I do use ALL RAW products for fueling training and racing…so also highly recommend the Fuel (unflavored option is great) and EAA+. Also daily, creatine!! Go shopping:

Thank you for being here and for believing in what we’re building together. If you enjoy this newsletter, I’d love for you to share it with a friend who is into triathlon!

See you next Friday,

Jackie

The Women’s Race Empowering women through endurance sport. Hellooooo from Kona!! 🌺 I made it to Kona on Tuesday after smooth travels and am getting settled in. It feels like the calm before the storm that is race week. There are definitely quite a few triathletes here already - many, many pros…but nothing compared to what it will be like next week! For now, I’m enjoying getting used to the weather, settling into the island and trying not to overdo it. I’ll be staying the next few days with...

The Women’s Race Empowering women through endurance sport. Hey everyone! Time is flying now… we’re nearly two weeks from Kona!! 🌺 The weather took a turn here in Wisconsin this week and it is officially feeling like fall… cool temps, rain, and definitely not enough warmth and sunshine to be prepping for Kona! Luckily I only have to get through this weekend before heading out to the big Island! I’ll be heading to Kona on Tuesday, which means things are getting very real around here. The...

The Women’s Race Empowering women through endurance sport. Another week has come and gone...hope it was a good one!! I have to say, I'm truly enjoying Kona training lately. This week I've felt my run fitness finally return and even surprised myself at track this week during a 5x 1 mile descend workout where I was able to get down to my fastest mile of the year, YAY! Considering everything I've been doing both in and out of training, and most importantly how the effort felt, things are...
