The Women’s Race / Friday Finish Line

TWR Friday Finishline

The Women’s Race.

Empowering women through endurance sport.

Welcome to The Women’s Race newsletter. I’m so glad you’re here. This is the VERY first one…so you are officially an OG :)

Each week, I’ll share a little bit about what to expect on the podcast, something to know about in the triathlon world and a little tip to help you become a stronger, smarter, and more confident athlete. I have a vision of having other pros contribute in different ways to the newsletter to keep some variety and different view points in here.

Whether you’re training for your first finish line or chasing a personal best, I hope this becomes a place where you feel encouraged, informed, and reminded that you belong in this sport.

What we are loving right now:

This weeks pod

This week I got to chat with Julie Iemmolo. Julie is an up and coming pro from France and I really love her upbeat attitude. We took a great picture together last year in Kona - I’ll share on IG- since she was the youngest and I was one of the oldest. Oh how time flies!!

In Triathlon

I am heading out to Sweden on Monday for the last Ironman of the Pro Series before Kona. It looks like a strong start list and an absolute beautiful location! Tune in and watch it all on Ironman’s YouTube next Saturday, Aug. 15.

Something to try

I fully credit my quick return to running to the Kineon Move+. Kineon is a targeted red light + laser therapy device designed to support muscle recovery, joint health, and performance. I cannot explain how much this is helping me - HIGHLY RECOMMEND!

Thank you for being here and for believing in what we’re building together. If you enjoy this newsletter, I’d love for you to share it with a friend who could use a little encouragement on their own journey. This will definitely change and evolve over time, but here we are…the first one is out!

See you next Friday,

Jackie

The Women’s Race Empowering women through endurance sport. Hellooooo from Kona!! 🌺 I made it to Kona on Tuesday after smooth travels and am getting settled in. It feels like the calm before the storm that is race week. There are definitely quite a few triathletes here already - many, many pros…but nothing compared to what it will be like next week! For now, I’m enjoying getting used to the weather, settling into the island and trying not to overdo it. I’ll be staying the next few days with...

The Women’s Race Empowering women through endurance sport. Hey everyone! Time is flying now… we’re nearly two weeks from Kona!! 🌺 The weather took a turn here in Wisconsin this week and it is officially feeling like fall… cool temps, rain, and definitely not enough warmth and sunshine to be prepping for Kona! Luckily I only have to get through this weekend before heading out to the big Island! I’ll be heading to Kona on Tuesday, which means things are getting very real around here. The...

The Women’s Race Empowering women through endurance sport. Another week has come and gone...hope it was a good one!! I have to say, I'm truly enjoying Kona training lately. This week I've felt my run fitness finally return and even surprised myself at track this week during a 5x 1 mile descend workout where I was able to get down to my fastest mile of the year, YAY! Considering everything I've been doing both in and out of training, and most importantly how the effort felt, things are...
